Gearing up for a big Spring.

Hey everyone! It's that time of the year when we begin putting together the majority of our trips for year. The junior high students begin looking forward to Believe, the high school students begin thinking about CIY Summer Conference and both are anticipating church camp and other summer trips. The sponsors and I really enjoy this time as well because we start putting down goals for the year and making plans for the new semester.

2008 is going to be great (yes, I intentionally made use of the rhyme). But let me enourage you all to start thinking about how you may grow and what you need to push you toward more growth. As sponsors, our main goal is to point you toward Jesus and to bring Jesus toward you.

In the next week or so I will have out our Spring calendars, but in the meantime keep these dates in mind: Skiing at Hidden Valley (January 21-$33); Junior High Believe (March 7-8 - cost tbd). Also...take a peak at some of the pics from the Student Ministry picture archive.

Reminder!!!

For those of you who are playing paintball this Sunday, September 23rd, do not forget to have a parental release form signed and returned to the church office. You will not be allowed to play without that form. Forms are at the INFORMATION STATION!

We are leaving from the church building at 12:30pm and returning at 5pm. Cost is $30 (covers all gear, gun and 200 paintballs. More paintballs can be purchases at Bing Shop in Eville or at course). Bring some money for a snack and drink. Let Matt know (matt@leclairecc.com) if you have any questions.

Fall Kickoff

This Sunday (September 9th) all of the student ministry programming kicks off. Below is a list of the programming:

Sunday mornings @ 9:15 - Studying the life of David (Don't forget that the jr. and sr. high will start off in the same classroom, but will split for teaching time)
Anchor (Sunday nights - 6:00-7:30pm) - Studying the life of David. Will be a teaching time, small group time, wild n' crazy games, hang out time, etc.
FYI - there is still Bible study on Wednesday nights for those that cannot attend on Sundays.

Sept. 23rd - Paintball. Cost - $30. This includes all your gear and 200 paintballs. Additional paint must be purchased at Bing Shop in downtown Edwardsville or at paintball field. Meet at church at 12:30pm and return at 5:00pm. Invite your friends

Oct. 7th - Relleke's Pumpkin Patch. Cost - $10. This should be enough money to play a few games, go through the cornmaze, take home a pumpkin. This does not include snacks, etc. Leaving from church building by 1:30 and returning around 5:30 or 6:00pm

Fundraiser Opportunities

All of the proceeds from these two fundraisers will help furnish Youth Wing in the new building.

Fundraiser #1 - Current Fundraising

All you need to do is follow these simple instructions:

2) Shop to your heart’s content! Look for special Fundraiser internet offers.
3) When you check out, enter the state of Illinois and then click on LeClaire Christian Church.
4) Submit your secure order and receive the great Current products while helping our group!
5) Your products will be shipped directly to you.
6) Anytime you shop Current, whether it’s today, 3 months from now, 6 months or a year from now, your orders continue to support our youth group as long as you follow the above steps.

Fundraiser #2 - Schnucks Card

I do not have all of the info on this. Essentially, though, a certain percentage of whatever you purchase at Schnucks with a special card goes directly to the youth fund. I will write more info in the next few days.
